Lizzie’s Roots to the Bonded Podcast
With the launch of The Bonded Podcast this week, it feels important to share my why—why I felt called to create this space, to share my voice, and to explore these themes with the world.
If this podcast were a plant… its roots would run deep. Imagine it with me—the soil is rich and biodiverse, made up of personal experiences, spiritual wisdom, scientific insight, and deep compassion for all beings. And the carbon that nourishes this soil, feeding the roots of this podcast, is my belief that connection is one of the deepest forces for healing — not just to soothe our pain, but to empower our growth, resilience, and sense of belonging to something greater.
And if you got a little lost in my soil biodiversity metaphor, then I look forward to teaching you more about the wisdom that lives within the soil—and within you, too!
This belief grew from my experiences exploring ecosystems and cultures on my travels, studying plant and human biology, and practicing mindfulness beyond the cushion.I came to see how our disconnection—from the land, from our emotions, from one another—fuels so much of our modern pain and dis-ease.
I came to see how our disconnection—from the land, from our emotions, from one another—fuels so much of our modern pain and dis-ease.
And in our modern world, we’ve become especially disconnected from nature. Unlike our ancestors who lived in alignment with the seasons and the elements, many people experience nature as something separate, something “out there.”
But the truth is, we are nature. We are not separate. And when we remember that—when we feel our interconnection—something shifts. We start to care more. We tend to what we are bonded with. We go out of our way to support those we feel connected to, whether that’s people, places, or the planet itself.
Ever since coming to this understanding, my mission has been to help people reconnect with nature and rediscover that felt sense of being with the world—not above it or separate from it. I believe the way we tend to the Earth mirrors how we tend to ourselves. And when we heal, that healing doesn’t stop with us. It ripples—into our relationships, our communities, and the ecosystems we’re part of. Personal healing is never just personal; it’s a contribution to collective healing, to the restoration of balance and care for all beings.
As I’ve grown in my work as a mindfulness practitioner and counselor-in-training, I’ve come to see nature as a co-healer. For those who have experienced trauma and find it hard to feel safe with others—or even with themselves—nature offers a grounding, nonjudgmental presence. It teaches us mindfulness. It models compassion. It invites us back into connection—slowly, gently, and honestly.
The Bonded Podcast is a space where we’ll explore these ideas and more: attachment, trauma, healing, relationships, and nature’s role in our inner growth. It’s a space for long-form, nuanced conversations that don’t fit neatly into a 10-second reel or TikTok trend.
The podcast is out now — I’d be honored if you gave it a listen and shared it with someone who might resonate.
Thank you for being on this journey with me and for choosing to bloom together.
With love,
